Engraved Leaves

As seen in November House Beautiful, this hand engraved, french-folded card requires four passes through the press to achieve the different colors. Each pass requires that a new “counter” be hand-cut, the counter helps direct the pressure of the paper into the “cut” in the engraving plate where it picks-up the ink and secures the tell-tale raised quality that we so love in this exquisite form of printmaking.

In this iteration the leaves almost look as if they were water colored by hand, each impression unique.

The card is made of 100% cotton onion skin paper which is less than half the thickness of regular typing or ink jet paper, it is extremely delicate, almost like tissue paper! Each card is 4.25″ X 5.5″ and comes with a white envelope.
